My Passion For Chiropractic Care Has Grown
My passion for chiropractic has grown over the past 9 years I have been a chiropractor and an acupuncturist. I am passionate about helping you feel better fast. In doing so, I want you to learn how to help yourself at home. I want you to learn how to manage your injury so it wonít happen again. And lastly, I want you to learn the importance of preventative and maintenance care, so you donít have the problems over and over.
I have taken hundreds of hours of muscle rehabilitation courses. This enables me to help you improve your posture. We will stretch and strengthen your weak and tight muscles to lead you to improved posture. Most of my patients sit too much, most of them also have poor posture, I educate all my patients on these two critical daily activities.
I Didn't Know I Wanted To Be A Chiropractor Until 1998!
I was in the 7th grade and I was horsing around wrestling with friends. One friend got overly aggressive with my neck and "ripped" it to the right. That night I remember my neck hurt so bad I couldn't sleep, my neck wouldn't move to the right without piercing sharp pain. The next morning I asked my Mom to take me to the local chiropractor, I don't know why I thought of it, because I had never been to the chiropractor and my parents, as much as I remember never went to the chiropractor either. I was so relieved after my first adjustment, the relief was significant and immediate. But that's not when I choose to make a career out of it.
I didn't know I wanted to be a chiropractor until 1998, my senior year at Ball State University. I was studying Entrepreneurship, small business management, and I had to write a business plan for graduation. The program at BSU was ranked fourth in the country that year according to US News and World Report, you either receive an A or an F, so if you fail you have to return the next year and try again. With so much time, four months worth, and energy going into this final all-or-nothing project I wanted to actually do what I was writing and researching. So after racking my brain researching potential ideas of which included: a drive-in-movie theater, pizza parlor/movie theater, and an adventure travel agency. Ultimately, all those ideas felt unfulfilling. So one night, I was racking my brain again, my spine sweating worrying about lack of a compelling ideas. Then, the light bulb went on. I remembered about my experience nine years earlier, being helped by the chiropractor and thought how fulfilling it would be to help people for a living.
My Journey With Chiropractic College
For as long as I can remember, I've always enjoyed helping people- that's why I became a West Lafayette Chiropractor. My friends from high school at Lafayette Jeff laugh because they remember how I used to work on their backs and necks before I had any formal training. The formal training came from Logan College of Chiropractic in St. Louis, Missouri. One of the reasons I choose Logan is because I knew I wanted to learn more about acupuncture. From the beginning I was fascinated by acupuncture, In fact, its one of the reasons I became a chiropractor. I knew I could learn chiropractic medicine, which I could use to help others but with a chiropractic degree I could also perform acupuncture. And with both therapies I could help many more people. I spent over 250 hours studying acupuncture at Logan College, but didn't feel like I really commanded it or could harness its potential. Thats why the following experiences were so meaningful.
After graduating from Logan I was fortunate enough to work in Cashiers, North Carolina for Dr. Mary Margrave. She had over 15 years experience as a Chiropractor/Acupuncturist and taught me how to use these powerful tools to get great results. We also received advanced training in acupuncture in Canada at McMaster Medical College. This is where the light bulb finally came on in my mind. Being taught by Medical Doctors how powerful, effective, safe and simple acupuncture can be helped me finally take command of this art.
Why I Love Being A Chiropractor in West Lafayette
When you come into my clinic, most patients want one thing... relief.
For this reason it's my first priority to achieve the fastest most effective pain relief. Most of the time we are able to achieve this after the first few visits. Usually, we will work with you for two weeks, between 5-6 visits. Under most circumstances we will see considerable improvement in that time period. The sooner we get the results you want the sooner we can taper your care down. Sometimes, unfortunately we don't get you the results you want. When this happens we discuss your options with you and refer you to the most appropriate referral. I'm very proud of the fact that when patients come to see me as the Chiropractor in West Lafayette, they know exactly what is going on, there are no surprises or long-term commitments. I treat my patients like I would treat my mother or my grandmother.
My Healthy And Balanced Chiropractic Lifestyle and Family
When you call the clinic you may notice that the receptionist has a funny accent. That is my lovely wife, Belkys (pronounced "Bell"-like one that rings and "Keys"-like you use in your car). Belkys is from the Dominican Republic, her native language is Spanish, but she speaks perfect English if you listen closely. We met while I was working in North Carolina in 2003. Belkys does all the administrative duties for the clinic. She is very warm, friendly, and professional. She will help you with all your insurance and related questions.
Outside of Cline Chiropractic? I love to play golf, although I'm not very good. I am probably an 18 handicap, but I hate keeping score, so it may be even worse! I love to spend time with my two little girls, Emma the baby, and Leah, the big sister. I also love to spend time with my wife and eat a nice quite dinner and have a glass of wine.
Since getting our 80 lb. Goldendoodle, Rusty, in September of 2005, I have learned how beneficial pets can be for your overall health and well-being. For one reason, especially with big dogs, they require a lot of exercise. So I call Rusty my free personal trainer. He gets me to walk or roller blade at least 4-5 times per week. I would suggest for everybody to get yourself a dog that can provide you with companionship and exercise. He comes to the clinic with us on most days and sometime answers to the name Rusty. The chances are good that he will greet you at the front door of the clinic!
I consider myself an excellent listener and hope I get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Please contact Cline Chiropractic now to schedule an appointment and let us help you!
